Mike Newton

Mike has 25 years' experience in the investment management and banking industry. Prior to NEWTON ROSS, he was the Chief Operating Officer for BT Funds Management Limited (NZ) and Director of Investments for the Sovereign Group.  He has also held senior investment management positions in Australia.  Mike is an Authorised Finanical Planner (FSP No. FSP8121),a Certified Financial Planner CFP^CM and member of the Institute of Financial Advisers Incorporated (IFA).

Mike is married with 3 children and lives in Devonport, Auckland. He enjoys fishing, tennis and golf.

Wayne Ross

Wayne has 18 years' experience in investment management and finance industries.  Prior to NEWTON ROSS, he was General Manager Investments for the Sovereign Group where he was responsible for the investment of NZ$3.5bn on behalf of 600,000 investors.   Wayne has extensive direct portfolio management skills as well as fund manager selection, portfolio construction and asset allocation experience. Wayne is an Authorised Finanical Planner (FSP No. FSP8201) and is a member of the Society of Independent Financial Advisers (SIFA).

Wayne is married and lives in Army Bay, Whangaparaoa. He successfully completed the Taupo Ironman in 2008, is president of the Hibiscus Coast triathlon club and enjoys multisports, golf and fishing.

Alan G Read

After a 28 year career in banking, with the last four of those years as Manager of Westpac's personal investment centres, Alan left in 1993 to set up a business specialising in financial planning and investment advice.  Alan joined NEWTON ROSS is 2010 and look after our clients in the Bay of Plenty.  Alan is an Authorised Financial Planner (FSP No. FSP16401), a  Certified Financial Planner CFP^CM and member of the Institute of Financial Advisers Incorporated.

Alan lives in Tauranga and enjoys music and musical theatre.
